It's a wonderful life
Favorite line of christmas, and that goes for you to, you old billings and loans,, Its a wonderful life.Elder Boyd,I know that the lord loves each and everyone of his childern and in this wonderful season of christmas is when the lord wants to bless his childern with his spirit,and gift of the spirit of christmas. I am so grateful for all that the lord has blessed me with and for a wonderful family and friends that have helped and supported. Just like the christmas carol we to can find the spirit of hope, of joy and a look for the gift we will bring to the babe jesus. I am so exicted to soon be able to talk with you all and I invite each every one of you james spencer jacob erick mom dad josh jessie and weston haha! to right a list of things that you want to become better in and thing look each day of this week for the small blessings of christmas in each day and look for ways to spread this christmas spirit with all, through a smile, through a huge, through service to your brothers or nieghbors that live by us, and invite all to, come and adore him. I know that he lives that he was born in a humble stable to wonderful parents. He is the prince of peace and the king of kings and he is always there when we need him. He is the joy and hope for salvation and we must always be grateful and thankful for this gift of hope in our lives. Thank you so very much for your prayers, love comfort and support. this is the most wonderful time of the year. and I have a holly jolly christmas. Thank you so much for thinking of me, you guys didn´t have to send me a package but I truly and grateful. Thank you so much for all that you do. James and spencer only 4 and a half months left tell all be able to see you. can´t believe that its that close. try not to grow up to fast before I get back and like mother always says you can{t grow up. Jacob and erick you are my heros, keep up the wonderful work that you are doing in helping others and making others feel good. look for ways to help those who are maybe sad and help them to be glad. And have a wonderful time with this school break and help mom and dad out with the two I mean three little monkeys now...hahaa, Thank you mom for sending the package and dad for all you do. I am so grateful for your letters each week. It always helps give me a little boast to work harder. That is so awesome to hear that josh malzhan is now back from his mission. Way to go., mission accomplished and now on to his next missions haha! tell him that he is awesome and that I wish him and his family a very merry christmas all the way down from nicaragua. The spirit was so strong in the lesson, that it seemed as dad always says you could cut it like butter, and a warm feeling of excitment feeled me and my companions souls. Since being together we have worked hard and it has been a strugle to get people to go to church and progressing towards baptism, but this expierence helped me open my heart and eyes to the wonderful gift of the savior that he has given to all to help come to know the truth. Truly it was through the holy ghost that helped this wonderful sister be baptized despite much persuction from family memembers and friends and now has helped her mother and sister come to know the truth of this work through gift of the holy ghost.Querido familia,thank you dad so very much for your email, in this great time of the navidad the spirit of christmas is all around and the lord is touching the lives of his childern in miraculous ways. This past week we saw some of the first fruits of christmas, as we put forth all of our heart might mind and strength in this glorious work. As we began to teach the family of hermana flor the recent convert that we baptized this past week, it was truly amazing. When we meet with the family on tuesday afternoon we started of with a hymn prayer and before we could begin to start our lesson, the mom of flor said to us, elderes I have been studying and pondering much in my heart this week about the things that you elders have taught and the feelings that I have felt in the baptism of my daughter and the good feeling I had this past week at church and elders I want to be baptized....

oh and I almost forgot to write, I recieved A wonderful package from josh and jessie that truly was a AMAZING with capitual letters!! haha! thank you guys so very much for your love and for the socks and air heads and m&ms and I can´t remember what else because I ate it so fast...Haha No I am just kidding but seriously was a huge blessing of love and joy...Jessie I loved the note that you wrote and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful sister in law and family. I always did say that you were like the sister that I never had and now you are my (sister) in law. HAha! Keep that crazy monkey(josh) of yours in line. He is a wild one!! haha! I love you bro can´t wait to see you all and your wonderful baby. he will be so big by time I get back...
Oh and mom tell the wonderful primary teacher thank you so so very much for the letters of the little kids. THey were AWesome and so funny!! I loved them so much and they brought a lot of joy into me. kids just have so much love and now just what to say... One of them that I can remeber said (Elder Boyd are you on your mission? Where are you? thank you for being a missionary.) haha! it was so great I will have to write next week a quick note to the kids becuase I didn´t bring the letters with me. I will send a email next week.
I also recived a wonderful letter from Hermana coon that brought much encourgament and strength. She has been a wonderful friend throughout all the years and always has helped me to go the extra mile more and to become better. Happy blated halloween and birthday spencer. Wow can´t beleive that it is already another year spencer!! You are getting so big! I loved the video that dad sent of your friends and james singing the funny birthday song and then you trying to blow out the candles but they wouldn´t blow out...haha! Love you spencer and I hope it was a wonderful birthday for you. By the looks of the wonderful cake it must have been a wonderful birthday. That cake looked so good. 6 more months to go in two days. wow crazy to think.

My wonderful companion Elder Fuentes from el salvador. He has been helping me so much to relearn spanish. While I was on the alantic we spoke mainly miskito so my spanish got mixed up a lot. It was truly hard the first few days not to say. Nahksa nahkisma, yang nini elder Boyd an man pianiki bah ninam Elder thomas, yang nani wansna imbivit man nani munisa priasra waia naha sunday. Hey, how are you today, my name is elder boyd and my companions name is Elder Thomas, We want to invite you guys to church this sunday. Can you guys go to church? How old are you? Are you baptized? Where do you live... and so forth and so when I went to contact I began saying these phares and relized that they couldn´t understand... Haha!
Elder Fuentes is super funny always has a joke up his sleeve. He is very loving and patient and has a powerful testimony. He is only been a convert for 3 years and is serving faithfully. The only thing is he doesn´t have much support from home, and he comes from a very humble home in el salvador but It would be wonderful if you could dad or mom or any of the brothers write a quick note or email on my email to him, this next week and I can translate what you write to him. It would make his day. Love you guys.

¿Cómo Está la familia de Boyd y la maravilloso estado de Arizona? Hace calor ahorita o está haciendo frio? Estoy muy algre y feliz estar aquí en managua nicaragua serviendo nuestro salvador Jesucristo, ésta semana pasado tuvimos era mejor semana y el Espíritu Santo nos guió a una familia escogido.
How is the boyd familia and the wonderful state of arizona? Is it hot right now or is it cold? I am so exicted and happy to be here in managua nicaragua serving our savior Jesus Christ, This past week we had was a better week and the holy ghost guided us to a chosen family.
The first week that I was moved from my last area of puerto cabezas to managua was a tough one. Me and my companion elder fuentes were left to start digging the soil where it was left. We had one family teaching but nothing much. But my amazing companion Elder Fuentes and I have been working hard to look to the lord and work with all our heart might mind and strenght. As we did we were led by the spirit to a family whos names are bety and jeffery. They are a family that we found this past sunday, the story that I had written to you guys thispast monday. They were the family that we found when we contacted the first house of references that we recieved.
When we first contacted them we cold feel somnething different about them. We shared our testimonies of the gospel and how it can bless families and left them a phamphlet for them to read and told them that we would come back to see them on tuesday night. When tuesday came around I found that I had to go travel to another area to help teach a family with the other set of missionaries and so we ended up missing there appointment. friday rolled around and we had been working hard and the day had been long and I said a quick prayer to my father heaven that he could help us find a family to teach. Right at that moment I reliezed and remembered that I had forgot to go by the family bety and jeffery. So we went to see if they were there. They answered the door and the first thing she said was thank you for coming, we waited on tuesday for you guys to come but you didn´t come. We ask for her forgiveness and explianed what had happened and we began to teach her. WE found that she and her husband had read all the phamphelt together and filled out all the questions on her own and had a note book of questions for us. They were true golden investigadores.
I was shocked and through our visit the spirit guided us of what to say and do and all of thier questions were answered. Her and her husband came to church this past week and both enjoyed and felt so good while attending church. I asked the after church how they felt and they said that they felt so good and didn´t want to leave. I bore my testimony that the filling they were having was the spirit touching there hearts that the gospel is true and we invited them to pray to know for themselves if joseph smith was a true prophet of god and if the book of mormon was true.
I am so grateful for your prayers and for the guidance that our father and heaven gives to us. I know that there is much power in prayer and can help lead us to those who are searching for the truth. Something that I learned this week about prayer was to things. One is that when we have a desire we must take that desire and make a plan and present it to the lord. A lot of the times I have fallen into asking but not really listening afterwards or planning out in my heart what I should do. Thats why we plan each day and should always stick to the plan or else you forget and miss a appointment like I did. haha! and two that we should be praying always whether it is in our hearts or singing a hymn and when we leave to work or go to bed and the promise is there that the spirit will protect us, lead us, and each time we pray we will become more and more intune with our heavenly father. THis I testify in the name of jesucristo, Amen.

Hello my wonderful and amazing family!!
It is always so wonderful to receive your letters and funnn!! That was such a crack up! haha! I loved the funny video of the everyone as the monsters. Haha! what a fun time that must have been making the video. Things are going wonderful in the great city of managua, Area Ruben darío. It has been a huge change coming from a people who only speak miskito, dirt floors wood houses eating turtle, to tons of cars, people and members. We have been focusing hard here on working with the memebers and references. Something new that presidente collado has been teaching us is to always where ever we go ask for references. From recent converts to less actives to investigadors. Me and my wonderful companion Elder Fuentes from el salvador had a special experience doing this this past week. We began to contact and we contacted this one door the parents weren´t home but a young man answered the door. we talked with him and invited him to church on sunday, he said he would love to but he has school on sundays, we taught him a quick lesson of the importance of the savior in our lives and invited him to look for away to come to church. Before we left we asked this investigador. oh and hey do you know anyone else on this street that we can go visit and get to know. He answered yes just three houses down there is a young man that invited me to church and he is a memeber of your church. We went down to the next house, to find alex who is a less active but super positive and we started talking with him and invited him to go to church this sunday. He says he will- And then we found there was another family living with him who were not memebers so we contacted them and invited them to church. They accepted and we set a appointment to go back tonight. Then we asked agian he do you know anyone on this street that we can visit and invite to church. He said yes as a matter of fact down the street there lives a family that baptized me that are memebers. We went down there and found out that they were visiting another ward but still active and then we asked them he do you know anyone around he that are members or we can visit. And guess what they said.... YES and we asked is it okay if you went with us right now to interduce us. They said ya no problem and we went to another family of less actives which also has people who are not memebers. It truly was a miracle how the spirit worked through the memebers the less actives and the investigadors that led us to these families. The craziest part was In the morning I was walking and had a impression to contact a house. As I looked at the house I recognized and realized that I had visited a year and a half ago went I first came to nicaragua. Me and my companion contacted the house and no one answered. Now for the crazy part. The last reference we recieved was that exact house that me and my companion try contacting in the morning and we found out that there was a family of memebers who had been praying to the lord for help and they wanted to return to church. This family was baptized by my first companion about 3 years ago, Elder Ventura! We visited with them and the memebers in there home and we could feel such a great spirit as we talked. She said thank for coming for me... I know that god answers prayers becuase he sent you guys here.
I am so grateful for the Holy ghost and his continual guidance to thoughs in need. I know that there are people waiting and praying to know what to do and how to make it another day. What brings great hope and relief into all lives is this hope and truth that the savior lives!! He atoned for each of our sins and is always there to help us find the means and ways to live and be happy. I know as we search diligently each day through prayer scripture and doing good acts daily, we will have the spirit and we will be lead through others to those in need. Dad I invite you to go out and contact with the missionaries, visit your wonderful friend that you baptized and ask him do you know anyone that could benefit from the message of the gospel. Does he have any family memebers, friends that live near by? Ask him if he knows any family that has recently had a love one pass away or have a new born baby? I love each and everyone of you so very much and I am so proud of all you guys do. Look for ways to serve and I invite you all to read moroni 10:20-23. It brought a lot of knoweledge to me this past week of how as weserve we gain hope and when we gain hope we gain faith and that faith helps us to act and bring to pass miracles. And that faith that we recieve begins to grow more and more and we gain more hope and desire to serve others and that brings us back to charity which is the pure love of christ. Its a on going process of growing spiritually by service and sharing the gospel with others. I love you all till we meet agian in 7 months, may 13, 2014. I talked with president collado this pastfriday as we were having a conference and I told him my desires to serve and I prayed about it and feel good about the descion to extend my mission one more month to may. I love these people dearly and pray that I can serve then with all my heart might mind and strength- 110% to the end... And what a wonderful day it will be to meet again. Ok right at the front end of this letter I can not take credit for your brothers cards they sent goofily to you I hope you are ok with them and it did not kill the spirit. Things are moving along I am going to see if I can read the book of Mormon by December as a Christmas present. I have been thinking and praying about who else I could helped The Lord with. I hope to have some more people to introduce the Elders to. I have been praying hard for mom and I to make what our family needs money wise to meet our needs it's been had with the economy and the governments bad leaders not helping small business and putting health tax on everyone. I am glad to hear you have decided to extend if you can that means your loving the work. I hope your mission president will allow you to some times they can't because of transfers and new missionaries coming into the field. But we are good with it if you want to. I was reading in Moroni today and I was amazed at how quickly the people forgot The Lord and went sideways what a sad day that must have been for Mormon and Moroni to live threw the was and distraction of their people. Keep up the good work of The Lord he will bless you and this is one of the greatest times in your life you will look back and gain great joy in the labors you have done in the lords work. 110% no regrets.

Dearest familia,
NAhkisma familiki? I loved the haliorious videos that you sent... Its like it has never changed, with the two little monkeys running around love eachother and jjacob and erick being awesome. I loved seeing the wonderful beatiful faces of mom and jessie and by the looks of things everything is going so well. And Josh and trent what a hoot!! haha! It has got to be crazy fun talking in spanish to eachother just like the good old days. Its wonderful time to be alive and exciting times!Speaking of exiciting times we recieved (cambios) changes!! I am truly grateful for my padre celestial for the oppurtunity I have had to serve among these wonderful childern of god. The work of the lord moves steadliy and the lord has been truly merciful to allow me to have had so much wonderful time here on the alantic coast of nicaragua and to see so many miracles among this people. The last 7 months here I will never forget, and it seems as if it were a dream. Its been incredible to see in these past months 12 families and 31 people enter into the waters of baptism and perservar hast el fin...Yesterday night we recieved the news of changes and after 5 changes 7months in one area (Lamlaya) I have been called to embark to another area. My next area of service is back to the wonderful Managua Again!! Back into the same zone that I was in before called Bello Horizonte.
The funniest part about going back to managua is that I will have had two christmas´s in the zone bello horizonte. Its going to be wonderful and changes always bring a freshness of life and excitment. It was truly the toughest thing today. From the early morning to the afternoon, me and another elder leaving as well, went by all those who have made a huge impact in our lives and truly are precious to our souls. As we visited one house to another I could not but hold back the tears of the joy and happiness that has come into my life because they are happy. Thats what the gospel is all about, helping all come unto christ and become perfected in him, as moroni chapter 7:45-48. Charity suffereth long and is ...the pure love of christ .. and whosoever is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him. One family that we reactivated with the help of memebers, has grown so much from ground zero to hold the melquesidic priesthood and holding a calling in the church.
As I went by a very precious recent converso ossmar and his wife doili. What a sweet and tender moment it was to be there in that moment. The spirit was so strong you could cut it with butter, as dad says..haha! I shared with them my last testimony of this work with them and shared how much I was grateful to have found them and for them being apart of my life. Before we left we said a final prayer and ossmar asked if he could pray. What sweet and tender words of the soul were heard that I will never forget. At the end of the prayer he began to cry. At the end of the prayer we I huged him tight and then said good by to his wife and darlin daughter ossmara.
I know that this is the work of the lord, he has many who are looking for the gospel of jesus christ. There is hope, joy happiness, to be found in the gospel of jesus christ. I want you all to know that I know that he is mindful of each and everyone of you guys. He prays for us as we pray to him. He leads us in each day and we recieve expierences each day that is helping us purify and refine our lives.

Wow, wow,wow what a termendous week and weekend it has been. oh much I always enjoy each and every ones emails and letters. it brings much joy and exciment to see and hear how each of the wonderful brothers are doing and to see how much they have grown.
Jacob how amazing and wonderful was your songs. At times I ask myself is that jacob or david archileta. HAha! Way to go brother. Keep up the great work and keep sharing your wonderful talents of singing, love, goofiness, and luaghter with all. Always look to befriend those around you and the brothers. They look to you.
Erick thank you so much for wonderful email and fotos. You are always so good at remembering to write and I can{t believe that you will soon be finishing the 8th grade and on to the big leagues of high school. Enjoy every moment of your 8th grade and keep up the splendid job of always helping those around you. you have been one of which has recieved many talents and it is your responsiblity to alway s remember to share them and helping others develop theres. I remember when I was in 8th grade and I met my bestest friend skyler shummway for the first time. HE was a very shy and not very well known person, but me and him just clicked and he was always willing to stick up for what was right. Through the many years of being friends he has taught me much of the talents that I needed to improve on and me to him. Erick you are doing wonderful, keep up the great work you are doing and help all those around you to always feel welcome. There are many who look to you and through your obedience, positive attitud always, and friendship, you will be able to help many to expand there talents.Thanks for your letter erick and know that you are awesome. James and spencer I loved the funny video that mom sent to me of you two on the rocking horse at the park. HAhaHA! you to are amazing and like mom says it reminds me alot of me and josh back in the days.
General conference was incredible, filled with each talk truly divine revelation to apply and live in our lives. Some of my favorite parts of conference was the funny expierence that he had with his old primary teacher, who had his gran daughter call up president monson and said to please call up tommy monson...he will know what to do...Haha! What a sweet and tender message he convayed to those who have lost loved ones, or have seen difficulty and tribulations such as sickness, deepresion and grief. He bore a powerful witness that the lord knows and loves us. He knows are sorrows and will bear our griefs. He is the counsilor and redeemer of the world. There is not a problem or diffculty that he can not overcome.
I know that these things are true, that the lord loves each and everyone of his childern so much and wants them to be happy. This past week we saw miracles as 7 people and 1 familia were baptized. Ever since a few weeks ago when president collado came to puerto cabezas for a conference he promised all of the missionaries that if we put in all our efforts to be completely obediente and serve with all our heart might mind and strength and work hard in involving the memembers in the process of baptizingm , he promised that every week we would see baptisms. AT first I had doubts that it could be possible but the lord humbled me and after much affliction and work, the words of president collado are being brought to pass. The work of the lord is expanding and increasing in all the world. And it is incredib le to behold.
It has truly been a miracle to see. There was much exicment and enthusiams as we involded the ward leaders and memembers in particapating in the baptisms of these faithful childern familias of god.

Buenas Tardes querida familia,
Wow where to even begin, I am so in complete ahh for your wonderful letters and videos! It truly made my birthday for me to hear from you guys and see your wonderful smiles, faces, and funny videos. HAha! Jacob and erick you guys are amazing. I laughed so hard when I watched jacob, james and spencer riding in the back of the car, being tickled by jacob to a funny song. HAha!! You guys are the best.
And wow I am speechless, jessie and josh. Your video you sent was so wonderful and it filled me with so much joy to hear that I am going to be a uncle that is (in-famous, ¨the three amigos¨) with westen grant boyd. I am so exicted for you to and to see my wonderful and bright nephew in about 6 months. Wow weird to think about. Thank you josh and jessie so much for your email, its always so wonderful to see how jessie and josh and the whole gang are doing.
I just love you guys so much, and it feels me with such great joy to see the progress of everyone, dad, mom, the boys, grandma and josh and jessies and to see how much josh and jessie are in love. What a wonderful family we have.
Well work in the wonderful vineyard has been extraordinario. I don´t remember if I told you guys but I am still in my wonderful area of lamlaya in puerto cabezas, but I am now on my thrid companion in this area Elder Thomas. He is a amazing missionary as well, and we are just having the greatest time ofour lives each day working as hard as we can to the end. He is from idaho but his family just moved to utah, and he is finishing up his mission this next change. After this change I will have completed 7 months in this area of lamlaya and I hope I will be given the chance to have more time working in this area.
It is been such a amazing to see such wonderful growth and the hand of the lord in the lives of these wonderful amazing people. This past sunday we had district conference and it was amazing to see 3 of my recent converts prepare and recieve the melquesidic priesthood. Ossmar the wonderful recent convert of me and Elder Reeve also was among the 40 melquesidec preisthood holders to recieve this priesthood. After the ordantion we took a picture together and I gave him the biggest hug and he looked so happy and exicted to have this priesthood and help serve the lord with his power and authority. He also brought to the conference 4 investigadores that we will be now working with and when we talked with them they said they loved it so much and felt something within them glow while they were there. Ossmar has invited them to be baptised and they wanted to do it this week but we told them we needed to visit with them and teach them some lessons and that we could help prepare them for a date of baptism.
It was incredible!!! the lord is so incredible and it is truly him that has done all this work. The lord has brought into the hearts of the memebers the exictment of the work. And through the lord and the work of the memebers, we were blessed to see a wonderful family oscar and fransisca enter into the waters of baptism this past tuesday night. They are a miracle family, as we call it, becuase we found them thourgh a couple of recent converts and the second we meet them we could feel something different. They began to study the book of mormon and for three weeks we worked with them towards this baptismal date. They are amazing and I will send pictures of them next week.
Also this past week as we were contacting in our area we ran into a house that had two pet monkeys. It was funny expierence becuase through these monkeys we found two new families to teach. haha! we first were lead to contact them because we saw the monkeys outside there house at first, and me and my companion looked at each other and said we should contact that house. we got talking with them and found that they were postive. we invited them to come to church with us this past sunday and they excepted to come. These two families went to church along with another 5 families, 18 investigadores in all that were able to visit the district conference. It was truly miracle after miracle this past week.
I am so grateful to all that you guys do for me and for all your prayers and letters. I am so proud of you guys for your example for me. Way to go dad!! It is always a exicting feeling to see those whom you have encountered and became freinds with enter into the sacered waters of baptism. I know that this is the true gospel of jesus christ and that the book of mormon is true. My highlight this week was reading each morning from its pages. This week I found my self reading in the book of mormon 3 nephi when the savior came to the americas. The lord is such a great teacher through his example and love towards all people. I am so grateful for his love for us and for helping you guys be lead to those who are ready and prepared by god. I know that richardo and his family where one of those that were prepared from god. I know richardo that the lord knows and loves you personally. that Through prayer you can always recieve a confermation that these things our true, that the book of mormon was translated by the power of god through his prophet joseph smith. As I read from its pages I can´t help but always feel better and good inside and that feel is the holy ghost. And just like the promise in moroni 10:3-5 says that all those who ask shall recieve and who knock it shall be opened unto them. In the name of jesus christ. Amen.

Querido familiaaaaaaa!!
How wonderful it is to have the plesure of recieving and reading your wonderful letters. They bring so much joy and fun and I truly injoyed each and every video and email that was sent this week. Dad What a hoot that was!! haha! I loved the video of you doing the everybody dance now!! haha! it made me think of evan all mighty at the end credits. Good times. haha! and The crazy fun video of you riding on your bike in the mornings! I am glad to know that I am not the only one that is riding bikes in the fun hot sun!! haha!I saw that james and spencer have bikes. Way cool!! I wish that I could have a bike as cool as yours becuase mine loves to give me a run for its money and come of its chain every 5mins.
Yesterday as I was pledingly full speed ahead all of a sudden right as I am going up the hill, the chain desides to come off. I thought about dads funny story on his mission how a missionary borrowed dads bike and then it came of its chain and the missionary throw dads bike off a bridge. I was so glad that I wasn´t standing over a bridge becuase it might have dine what the missionary did and threw it off as well. HAhaha! But the bike has been teaching me a lot of paciene which is awesome for me and I love the work out. Wow dad and mom can´t belive you guys road 22 miles. Way to go!! keep up the great work. Me and a amazing missonary my zion leader work out every morning and I have found that with a constant work at it, watching when and how much we eat we find progression.
